About the Host

She Worked Hard

Real women. Real life.
A platform to share our stories.

This is a talk show for discovering and discussing the journeys of women’s interwoven professional and personal experiences and how they got to where they are. Some stories are celebratory, while others mourn over what they thought their careers or lives were going to be. No one person’s journey is the same, and that is what makes this show so unique and interesting.

The talk show is full of advice, and stories, and is a platform to help you understand where you want to go, and how to get there. Also, to understand the road other women have been down and if that’s the path for you. Learning from shared experiences is a powerful tool for us all, and this is a platform for all women to do exactly that.

Hello, Lovely.

I’m Lauren Maley, your host for She Worked Hard.

I am a wife and dog mom, but in my professional career, I am the Senior Vice President of a successful real estate company in Denver, Colorado that I helped build from the ground up. My professional and personal journey has not been a straight line, like most people it’s been full of highs and lows.

I finished my MBA a few years ago and felt that it took me a lot longer than my peers to figure out what I was good at naturally, and where I felt I belonged. School and work are a good remedy for that problem, but I still wished that I could take collective experiences regarding work, and life, and better understand where I fit best with my natural skill set. For example, it took most of my twenties to figure out I am not a salesperson, but I am an operations person with an operational mind. Had I had more information, I could’ve saved myself a lot of awkward interviews and sales pitches!

I hope this channel helps you, or your friend, or family member find where they belong (or don’t belong!), and better and more accurately depicts the working environment of certain choices of a career path that you truly cannot learn from a book or website. Storytelling is the most ancient form of information dissemination, and I believe the most useful.

These stories are for women to have a voice, learn from each other’s experiences, and help more women professionally and personally excel.

And lastly, please remember, she didn’t get lucky, she worked hard!

Truly yours,

Lauren XO
